Indeed. This worm is one nasty piece of work. I have learnt from inside
sources that at least one major investment banking giant's entire network
was brought down for practically the whole day today. I suspect many
companies that use Microsoft SQL server are in a similar situation.

We are a Linux shop so thankfully don't run any Microsoft products on any
of our servers. We have added a firewall rule to count the number of
probing attempts at port 1434/UDP and the result was staggering. There is
on average 1,000 hits per minute for that port at the moment.
