One possible method I thought of to avoid moisture issues on the "inside"
would be to employ an aquarium airpump to ventilate the cavity.

These are available quite cheaply, are designed to run 24/7 for years on
end, and are damn near silent. They do of course run on mains, so it would
probably be a good idea to mount in the loft area above the bathroom
ceiling, but flexible plastic tubing can be used to carry the airflow into
the required area....
