If your sub is over £30 then Sky Plus is a no-brainer.

I'm a VoIP virgin apart from basic stuff with a USB handset a few years
ago.

The boys on the UKHA IRC channel tell me this could hook straight up to a
ordinary phone/pbx. So you could be using DECT handsets or whatever for
VoIP.
