RE: Cool-looking keypads
They were from Apollo displays www.apollodisplays.co.uk
Click on What's New and it's the forth one down - the F-51553 screen. The
only down side is they insist you buy a development kit before they will
sell you anything else. I have done this for both the screen and the touch
screen so this is not an insurmountable obstacle.

Ian,
The touchscreen LCDs sound interesting, may I ask where you got them?

The usability would depend on the LCD size. How big are you thinking for
the LCD? The interference would probably be a suck it and see thing.
Secondly, I use a graphic LCD with touch screen which costs about 20 quid
+ VAT so maybe not as expensive as you might think. It is slightly smaller
than a credit card and 128 by 64. Very pleased so far.... You will need an
interface board for it but these are not too bad to make.

Hello All,
Quick question regarding the Qprox IC's. If understand correctly the
'detector plates' can be mounted behind a insulated panel and still
work. If so could I stick some detector plates behind an LCD screen to
make a poor mans touch screen? I would only need 4/5 switches mounted
behind the screen to make a useable interface.
Does this stand a chance of working, or would interference from the LCD
kill it?
Peter
