Can I possibly suggest that this is getting a tad more involved than
necessary?

Yes, I would like one of the 3Com 48 x 100Mbit + 2 x Gbit switches (we have
one at work) and *MAYBE* then I'd start worrying that maybe I was getting
bandwidth problems somewhere but seeing that at the moment I can stream 5
or
6 simultaneous movies from the DVD server at full DVD bitrates across a
100Mbit network without stuttering or glitching then it's all working
nicely
and above all *CHEAPLY*!
