You would either need to squirt the turntable through an amplifier (or
preamplifier) with a phono input to get the correct gain and equalisation
and take a feed into your soundcard from the tape outputs. *ALTERNATIVELY*
you can get turntables nowadays that have the correct RIAA equalisation and
line level amplification built in and they can be run straight into a line
level input. The third alternative is to use a standalone RIAA/line level
amplifier (can't remember a commercial product name for them but any decent
hifi dealer should be able to help you out here) which takes an RIAA
(phono)
input and gives a line level output suitable for squirting into an amp that
doesn't have a phono input (or a line level input on a sound card).
