I guess "speed critical" things like lighting where you expect
something to
happen as soon as you hit a button should be configured with the minimum of
"hops" between the button and the bulb.

For a while, I had : X10 remote -> air -> TM13 -> mains -> CM12
-> Homeseer
-> CM12 -> mains -> Lamp module

This took about a second, although had the advantage that Homeseer could
have better control over the dim levels.

I then changed the basic on/off and dim up/down functionality to X10 Remote
-> TM13 -> Lamp module and left Homeseer to do more basic
"holiday mode"
automation, control of my extreamer, security webcam and provide the web
interface.
