The problem with these sort of products is you're creating an
"automation island" as it were; you have automation between a
remote
control and a single device and that's all, which may suit your needs
now, and for your forseeable future (are these the sort that need to be
re-taught the remote code whenever there is a power cut ?), but a
solution based on a whole-house automation architecture (X10, C-Bus etc)
gives much more flexibility eg if you want to incorporate a PIR, time
based control (OK you could get by with a Pronto timed command if you
left it lined up right at the right time), macro based control, whole
house on/ whole house off, integration with alarm system etc etc etc
