Just a wee public service announcement...

if you own a MR814 router (or a bunch of other models, inclduing RP614,
RP614v2, DG814 and HR314 ) you really ought to update your firmware to the
latest version. Thanks to a bug in the Netgear firmware, these routers (as
many as 220,000 in the field) are carrying out an unwitting DDOS attack on
one of the main NTP time servers in the US: at a peak rate of nearly 400Mb
a
second.

According to the details posted by the Univerity of Wisconsin, the effect
is
equivelant to about five or six times the /. effect, constantly!
