Thanks for all the replies guys. One last question, are the routers with
multiple inbuilt ports just for ease of use. It seems cheaper to buy one
with just the one port and a separate switch. I already have a network
switch so I don't need the extra ports(famous last words) but I was just
wondering.
Thanks again,
Dave

You will see routers that say cable/adsl but do not have a modem built in
- so no good for you. Choose a router that explicity mentions it has an
adsl modem in it, also check reviews at adslguide.org.uk

Something like this (which I have)

[ukha_d] Router question
.
Category:

I'm looking to buy a router so I can use the internet on my Fuji without
using vnc. My question is do all routers come with an adsl modem built in.
If not, seeing as I already have an adsl modem do I just buy a stand alone
router or is it better to buy a router with a built in modem anyway and
lose
my stand alone modem.
Thanks,
Dave
