B&Q also have a cheap (£29.99) drill and a set of bits for £9.99

BTW Does anyone know what SDS and SDS+ actually stand for?

Someone a while back posted the link to the cheap SDS+ drill sold by
Screwfix. Well here's another cheapo make, this time being sold by Lidl
for around £50 -

http://www.lidl.co.uk/gb/index.nsf/pages/c.o.oow.20030828.p.900_Watt_Rot
ary_Hammer_Drill
or http://tinyurl.com/l0rc

it doesn't actually state that it's a SDS+ drill, but going by the
picture on the paper flyer (not the pictures on the web-site), it takes
SDS bits, and as it states that it's suitable for chiseling, then I
presume it's an SDS+.

The Screwfix model is only 620w, whereas this one is 900w. Similarly the
max revs are 750 and 1100 respectively, and the max blows per min are
2920 and 5800 respectively. Should do for occasional use me thinks.

The Screwfix link is -
http://www.screwfix.com/app/sfd/cat/pro.jsp;jsessionid=05XGLC305MTCFCJO2
C4CJ0Q?id=94802
<http://www.screwfix.com/app/sfd/cat/pro.jsp;jsessionid=05XGLC305MTCFCJO
2C4CJ0Q?id=94802&ts=37000> &ts=37000
or http://tinyurl.com/l0rx

Oddly enough, the Lidl web-site states that it's £49.99, but the NI
flyer states £55.00, and most of the other offer items are a pound or
two dearer as well! So it's not just the P&P costs are higher for those
living in Northern Ireland, even buying stuff locally from large
national retailers costs more!!
