I'm also looking to buy a new DECT phone with the similar features. Sync
with outlook would be nice, but I don't think that such phones exist.
Here's the list of other features requiered, I beleive your's are
similar or the same:
1. DECT
2. Has Answering machine
3. Has handsfree in handset (I don't want to walk to base station when
I'm placed on hold, rather just activate speaker in handset and wait)
4. Has address book with names, not only the numbers (my current one has
numbers only, and then you cannot remember whose number is which).
5. Can exchange numbers / synchronize address books between handsets, or
has one central address book (I don't really need this at the moment
because I have just one handset, but I think you need and I might in the
future)
6. Answering machine has number of messages displayed, not only LED
blinking. It's easier to navigate through messages when you have a few
of them. Sometimes, when message is not for me, I leave it on the
machine.
7. Has an option to enter long numbers (23 digits) and sign for pause in
address book. This is important because I use cheap telcos for
international calls a lot. I need to dial access number + sign for pause
+ international number I need to dial.
8. Doesn't lose time settings whenever power gets disconnected. My
current phone does and it's sooo annoying. And then I get "please set
the time" every time I listen to messages, which I cannot remember how
without manual.
9. Any kind of connection to PC would be highly appreciated, but I don't
beleive there is such thing.
Anyone can recomment any model close to this?
As an alternative, I'm thinking of putting analogue voice modem, which
would take care of answering machine functionality (even making messages
available over internet and all the other HA stuff), but it needs to be
SWMBO compatible.
That means that there must be a simple way of seeing that there are new
messages and playing them, without going to server in node 0.
Cheers,
Nik

There was talk from time to time about which DECT phones were
recommended by the group, and I tend to remember the BT Diverse
4010/4016 Exec was given good praise, as you could transfer name &
number directories between handsets. Is this still the case? Anyone have
any problems with them since?
Additionally, has anyone ever come across a DECT phone which could sync
with a PC based address book (such as Outlook contacts)? It'd be nice to
have the one address book, i.e. on Outlook, and be able to sync it with
your PDA, mobile phone and home DECT phones.
TIA
SJ
