RE: Cable marking ?
Dynamo tape will fall off.
A permanent fine tipped marker is a good low cost solution. Just use
numbers if you want to keep it simple or devise a code.
Some sparkies snip marks in the sheath but that's only reasonable on
small numbers of runs.
Many thanks

Subject: [ukha_d] Cable marking ?
Anyone have any recommendations on cat5e/CT100 cable marking ?
I'm running starting to pull cables and need to mark the ends so
I know what's what when I come to punchdown.
I bought a cable marking kit (CB0113766) from CPC but sent it back
because I could rub the ink off with my finger !
At the moment I favouring using different rolls of coloured electrician
tape to form a coloured barcode, but this will be a bit laborious
having to cut the strips and wrapped them around the cable ends.
Nearly bought a Dynamo device but was concerned about how well the
"glue" on the tape would stick to the cable.
What have others done ?
Marcus
