OK. So if I interpret the question as "if it could only do one of
these
which would you prefer?", then the answer for me has to be play the
same
music all over the house, and I have just been and voted to this effect,
but
I see that I am significantly in the minority.
For my mind a WHA audio solution should consist of ideally a centralised
multi-input multi-output amplifier, some of the sources would be centrally
located e.g. Tuner, DDAR, and some would be located within zones, perhaps a
local tuner or CD player.
The expense of the centrally placed amplifier may be prohibitive. An
alternative is that discrete amplifiers are located in each zone, with some
common audio feeds and some local, as above. A possible disadvantage of
this is that sources that are local within a zone would not be available in
other zones.
Now, does anybody now of any reasonably priced (perhaps modular)
multi-input, multi-output amps?
Nick

Hmmmm.
I originally wired the house for ceiling speakers imagining I would have
ONE
music source (CD Mulitchanger probably) at N0 playing the same to each
room.
As time has gone on I have changed my mind realising it's actually better
to
have a player in each room/zone allowing each person their own selection

However my present setup (using PCs in each zone for playback) doesn't
allowed for synchronised WHA for a party situation. Hence the poll to see
which was MORE IMPORTANT to other people.
