4 ohm speakers
Over the last few months I've been doing lots of work in my bathroom
building a proper shower to replace the current one other the bath. We've
installed a steam generator, body jets, normal shower head and a little
seat. The final thing I'm adding is water proof speakers to run some tunes
whilst relaxing in the steam. The ones I've gone for a Sony Marine
speakers, primarily because these where recommended by the steam people.
These are car speakers and so rated at 4 Ohms. I had planned to run them
off a stereo I have in the office with a simple switch to choose
Shower/Office. Is there anything I could or should be doing to deal with
the fact that they are 4 rather than 8 Ohms. Should I put 4 Ohm resistors
in series or something? Will connecting them up directly damage my stereo
or the speakers?
Thanks
Rob
P.S. I did have a bit of a look on the archive but couldn't really find
anything specific here other than maybe having 4 rather than 2 speakers.
Also I couldn't seem to get any results using a grouping search like
"My
sentence" or {My Sentence}.
