Covers off new smaller Sky+ box=20
SATELLITE broadcaster Sky unveiled its new Sky+ box, which is a third
smaller in size, at last week's Smart Show in Birmingham.
Brian Sullivan, Sky's director, new product development and sales, said:
"Sky and it's manufacturing partners continually update set top box
designs
to stay abreast of consumer electronic trends, and improve internal
structures to maximise performance and operational efficiencies.
"Sky+ was introduced back August 2001 and we felt it was time to give
it a
bit of a face lift."
The Sky+ 40GB hard drive can store an average of over 20 hours of digital

or up to 400 hours of digital radio at any one time.
As of December 31, Sky+ was in 65,000 homes in the UK. Sky+ now costs just
=A3249 plus a =A310 monthly subscription. Standard installation costs

existing or new Sky digital subscribers and =A3100 for non-Sky subscribers
