I've got one but found the light output to be much lower then it's 240V
halogen equivalent.. they use what looks like a capacitor driven voltage
drop to save on heat and space, but Led's are diodes so depending on what
sort of dimming your using you will find that the cap will pop! or you will
get a drop out point.. Also most dimmers require a minimum wattage say 40W
with these lamps are no where near!..

Personally I thing that Led technology need to go allot further before they
become a viable replacement for filament lamps..

The link is for orange, red, green or blue lamps.

White ones are here -> http://www.bltdirect.co.uk/item562.htm

but they are about =A35 more expensive at =A316.45 ea

Has anyone seen any specs of light output (intensity) and spectrum? Most
white LEDs I've seen have a bit too much blue in them for my liking.

However, even at that price it might be worth getting one and testing the
dimming capability, although I suspect that whether they can be dimmed or
not will depend on the type of dimmer used and so will probably not be
conclusive for all users.

Cheers

Neil

Hi

With all this talk of big electric bills, I spotted these:

http://www.bltdirect.co.uk/item561.htm

In a local lighting shop. Look really quite good.

Any one know if they would be dimmable? The guy in my local shop didn't
know! He also wanted =A325 a bulb, somewhat cheaper on the site above!

Cheers

Rob
