RE: lcd bathroom project again - success yet?

You could consider using a thin frame to cover up the perspex fixing screws
and any gap that is left wetwix wall and perspex front. For an invisible
fixing consider sinking magnets into wall/box (and frame if you've not used
a ferrous one)

Just a thought

Umar,

A couple of thoughts:

For mounting the screen, sink an IP65 box into the wall, insert the screen
and seal the box with a clear perspex cover. Still have to work out how to
make it look "pretty" but it may give you a starting point.
Alternatively,
look at the industrial interfaces offered by the likes of Siemens (some of
their screens incorporate a PC built behind them).

Instead of a wireless keyboard, what about one of these ? (see the pic at
the bottom)

Given the falling lcd screen prices, I am seriously considering putting a
15" LCD screen in the bathroom, vga connection to the loft where I can
site
a mini-itx box, with RF keyboard and mouse to control it back in the
bathroom. I have cat5 into the loft, and so I can then access n0 for divx,
mp3, and web-browsing. I can run amplified speakers from mini-itx.

I know others have considered this in a bathroom - has anyone completed
this project yet? Any tips on how to waterproof the screen?

Maybe given recent x-box thread I should consider putting an x-box in the
loft - but how do I control it, and can I view x-box on a VGA LCD?

Any ideas anyone?

Umar
