I have! Well, Brougham Baker, Tom Ellis and Myself all technically made
it. http://www.oreillynet.com/cs/weblog/view/wlg/448
is the design we
used, although we simplified it a little, with no noticable impact on
performance.
We managed to hit a WiFi node at a range of about 1.5/2 miles from the
top
of some hill in worthing, at about 1/2 signal strength (Not sure what
was
on the other end, but I reckon it was just an AP). They certainly rock!
We
couldn't do a proper test as the pigtail I was using had a little coax
extender, which will have reduced the overall gain a bit - but the
performance you get from them is unbelievable (literally!)
If you want any more info, feel free to ask! :)
