I am very sceptical about IBM after a couple of their (now infamous)
deskstar drives failing on me (and yes I know they are different
now). Also I can get those particular ones for under 100 quid ex
vat..

This is my real dilema, I want the Maxtors, but I too hate Scan. My
only possible consolation is that Scan are fine for sales (it is
after sales they are so unbelievably poor at) and I could go to
Maxtor direct if I get a problem with the disk later on. But I do
have until Monday to decide.
