I'm also interested in this - I believe you can, depending on
distance/line of sight between networks, but I'm sure one of experts
on group will confirm & recommend.
What I'd like to investigate is sharing a broadband connection
between a number of home networks. I live in a no-ADSL no cable area
BUT I believe I have line of sight (3 miles chimney to chimney) to a
friends house where there can be ADSL. I think (from previous
discussions) it would be possible to connect wirelessly, but then if
I further distribute the signal to a few local friends in the same
street (wirelessly), how do you a) prevent one person accessing
another's network (it does not however need to be Fort Knox) and b)
(worse) prevent strangers tapping in to the network?
I'd hoped to link my work offices & home (6 miles) but I'd need a 30
metre pole on the chimney to achieve line of sight so I reckon thats
out.
Any thoughts on feasibility/practicalities?

Nick
