Comfort is one solution - the serial interface protocol is
documented, and I've had success with interfacing it to Homeseer
already.

Ian has a headstart on this one -- see the resource links he posted

I did this a couple of weeks ago - interfaced to the parallel port of
a linux box. It's already xAP enabled, but I haven't got round to
posting the circuit details (which are trivial). Works really well,
although I needed to power the cameras off a single supply to avoid
ground loop issues.
