The formula is this....

(Supply Voltage - Sum of LED drops)/Current

eg if you are using 3 LED's that have a forward drop of 2V @ 20mA it is

(12-(3x2))/0.02

= 6/0.02 = 300 ohms

It just the basic Voltage = Current x Resitance

So 12v supply and 20mA needed.

Resistance = Voltage / Current

Resistance = 12 / 0.020 = 600ohms
