I store large quantities of digital photos rather than MP3s, but the principles are similar. I mirror the data on the harddrive to a second harddrive living in a machine under the stairs each night. Additionally, because copying to a second harddrive is not infallible, I also copy the data to DVD-RW on a semi-regular basis. At around a £1 for 4.3GB of storage, DVD-RW seems to be about the cheapest backup media around and just about makes up for the hassle of having to use multiple discs for each backup.

Apparently some people on this list have 100s Gbs of MP3s etc. If you
are one of them, what do you use for backing up?
