Can't comment on the Bose speakers but I have had the KEF Eggs for about 8 months now.
They look and sound brilliant!
You'll not want to hide the sub away somewhere but put it out where
everyone can see it.
But at the end of the day it's a matter of individual taste.
I've got a Marantz SR5200 surround receiver driving them.

I did lots of investigation at the time and visited a few specialist
hi-fi shops.
They all recommended the KEF Eggs and I read an article somewhere that
they were the best speakers available for that money.
Might have been What Hi-Fi from last year but I can't be sure and I
think they were around =A3800 at the time of the article.

Your best bet is to audition both sets of speakers off the same amp in a specialist shop.
Having said this I didn't - auditioned the KEF Eggs and said I'll take
'em.

If you have access to news groups try "uk.media.home-cinema" the = guys
there know their stuff and someone has just asked the exact same
question.

Anto.

It has been suggested by SWMBO that my current surround sound
speakers are a bit on the ugly side and take up way to much space
that could otherwise be occupied by furniture, therefore I am in the
market for a discrete speaker solution.

I am considering the BOSE Accoustimass 10's and also KEF KHT2005 (I
think that's the right one). And would be very much obliged if anyone
could provide feedback on these choices or any other suggestions.
