Be aware of Class 1 bluetooth devices. They are capable of a range of 100m, but (unfortunately), paired with class 2 devices (like phones and PDAs) the range is still 10m. See for example http://www.palowireless.com/infotooth/knowbase/general/10.asp for more details.

P.S. The Mitsumi USB Bluetooth module is one of the smallest available on the market and is very stable using modified TDK Bluetooth drivers. See: http://www.mitsumi.de/index4.html. I buy it from here, in Romania with about 60EURO.
