Oh I give up. As soon as I disagree with a 'regular' I'm classed as
being aggressive. Get a life. Not everyone here kisses the asses of
moderators/regulars and agrees with everything they say. Apart from this
email here which is clearly aggressive, how have any of previous emails
on this subject been anywhere near aggressive?

Exactly my point. Someone disagrees and you present a balanced argument, BUT in such an aggressive manner as to put people’s backs up. You treat me like an idiot which I’m clearly not.

Also, "arrogance of youff"? What if I were to say 'ignorance of the
disabled' or 'stupidity of Germans'? Don't be so rude and narrow-minded
as to dismiss someone's views because of the group they belong to. It's
not big and it certainly isn't clever.

Young people as a group tend to be arrogant because they have not yet seen enough of life to know any better. I thought I knew everything when I was 14, then 16 then 18 then 21 etc etc, and I think most people when they hit mid-20s or so tend to start to be far more honest with themselves about their own limitations. I won’t even bother to comment on the other two groups, though I feel more than adequately qualified in both examples.

The 7650 runs a Symbian OS which, surprise surprise, will also be
present on the Sony Ericsson P800. For you to say that Nokia have
produced something that is "vastly superior to anything that Ericsson or
Motorola ever have or will produce" is laughable. Not only did Nokia NOT
produce the software entirely that same software will be available on
the Sony Ericsson!

I was trying to make a point regarding the T68i which you seem to champion, which has laughable software. Do you really think that I hold the opinion that Ericsson or Motorola will never produce a decent phone.

Have you actually seen the image quality of the 7650? It is useless and
your example users surveyors, estate agents and architects would have a
really time getting anything useful from it. Here is an example:

Unfortunately I can’t borrow one this weekend to post numerous photos which would be fine for the purposes I described, because they are hard launching the phone. I’ll try to get one next week, then you can compare it with a number of online estate agent’s photos, and eat your words. If you actually read my messages rather than scoffing at them you’ll see that I had one for a day.

Also, your example of teenagers is also laughable. In a year's time when
phones with cameras are cheap then yes, they will use it. But only rich
teenagers can afford a phone that is £450 offline.

Why would they buy it offline? You can get it for around 100 quid on a contract. I know lots of teenagers that would be prepared to spend birthday money etc to have the latest gadget.

The Nokia 7650 is a great concept with crap execution, but you expect
that with a 'first' in technology. Once they become smaller and the
image quality is better than that will be great. But as it stands the
phone is about as much use as a chocolate teapot.

What's the point anyway? I'm probably going to be banned for daring to
disagree with Timothy. Meh. See you later boys and girls.

My point is that it isn’t perfect, but my singular objection is your use of the words “wate of time”. It isn’t perfect by any means, but waste of time is an arrogant and aggressive phrase.

You’re arrogant and you’re young, hence the use of the aforementioned phrase.

Tim.
