RE: Re: DVD changers
I
got
mine online from 'av-store.co.uk' 2 yrs ago & had the Paragon 25
multiregion upgrade for £59
Just
had a look at the paragon information sheet & it says that there may be
a
black & white picture with NTSC discs & just to use the RGB
scart.
So it
sounds like it is the MR 'upgrade' causing the black & white
picture

I
bought mine over internet from some company in Peterborough (I forgot the
name).
Where did you buy yours?
I
am
not sure if this is Sony's problem, because they don't manufacture modified
players. MR enabling is usually done by companies that sell them, so there
can
be a few different versions of chipping. Even some of them claim to be
better
then the others.
It
might be that ours are not modified properly and still there are versions
that
work fine with S-video.
I
wanted to use S-video output to amplifier so I can switch video source on
AV
amplifier, but since it doesn't work properly, I'll have to go for Pronto
solution instead.
Cheers,
Nik
I have the same Sony DVD changer,
with MR mod & the S-video is black & white also - so I don't use
this connection. Jon B

That is exactly what I plan to do (connect via KAT5) so I
would certainly be using the s-video connection. However I am already
doing that with a single disk player (old Pioneer) and the picture is
fine. Does anyone know whether this is a Sony
problem?
