If it's only 1ft down it's going to get severed by the very first spade that
our gardeners put into a flower bed! I know these guys!

We recently had a new water pipe fitted and this went about three feet down.
My SWA under the lawns is about 2 feet down (and both come into the house
through the same hole and this is close to three feet down)

Seems odd for them to go so shallow that the cable risks damage.
