Thanks for the replies,
I was just looking at the Powermids on letsautomate.com and it mentioned the
"IR emitter output" and the fact that "emitters are optional, as the pyramid
itself also transmits infra-red". How reliable is it without using emitters?
I wouldn't mind using emitters if I decide to move my equipment into a
cupboard but if I decide to leave it on display in the room I wouldn't want
to have to have a wire trailing to each piece of equipment.

Also if I decide to use a wired IR receiver I assume that I have to use an
emitter? Is it just a receiver, splitter/block and emitter that I would
need.

I've just seen the 'Blaster Emitter' how reliable are they? Living in a 2
bed house I think I could get away with just having one IR receiver in a
central place upstairs (how many receivers can you have in one block
anyway?)

Thanks again.

I have them too and...

I agree with that ... Sunlight on the sensor makes them less
sensitive...

Depends on where I am in relation to the IR receiver/RF transmitter
Pyramid ... If I'm straight on in front of it then Tivo gets the signal
fine first time every time.

Don't have $ky myself!
