Hi All

While nursing my hangover on Saturday (Long story!) I had chance to rip
some of my CD collection to MP3, used CDEX with the Lame encoding and
have to say I was fairly impressed with the resulting sound quality.

A couple of questions though for those who are more knowledgeable:

1) The occasional track on he occasional disc would have an error on it
(As reported in CODEX.) although on most occasions a re-record solved
this problem there was the odd one that I just could not stop an error
occurring. Is their a way round this? The discs in question play
perfectly on an audio CD deck?
2) Is their a yahoo group/news group for serious MP3ers where I could
obtain the bad tracks. i.e. Good quality encoding. This is not piracy as
I own the discs anyway. Not really very keen on the Kazar or Imesh type
thing. Would rather dealwith like minded people as in this group.
3) Has anyone set up a server running on an Via Epia board. I'll be
linking to my Audiotron. Do I need a 7200rpm hard drive or is 5200
sufficient. This seems the ideal to me as the Via's are small and
silent.
4) Anyone know where I can find a cheap BLACK 1u or 2u case. Yes I know
I'm being fussy but I like things to look nice! The Novatech ones are
grey :-(

Thanks in advance as always!

Many Thanks
Rob
