Ben,

YAC on the TiVo will display anything you throw at it (through the
appropriate TCP port).
It is the PC client version that formats the data as Phone no and who
is
calling.

You don't need to use the YAC server at all - you just open the TCP
port,
shove the text out & close the port again.
It's _that_ simple.
