Heeelp,
I can't figure this out....i'm sure its staring right at me but i just
cant see it!
I now have FreeWX and can see the file it creates, Ken has said u need
this hvconfig.txt which tells hv which variables etc.
How do i make HV read the file?
Thanks
Martin

HV has to read "C:\freewx\FreeData.txt", that's the file I asked
Andy
Keir to get Free WX to output to talk to HV.

Ah, that's the trick, you have create a file in your HV directory
called
"hvconfig.txt" that tells HV which variables to read the values
into
mine looks like this:
SECTION NAME: Custom data file
SECTION FORMAT: Comma-separated values
OutsideTemperature
OutsideHumidity
variable27
InsideHumidity
Pressure
PressureDirection
Unused
Unused
Unused
Unused
Unused
WindSpeed
WindDirection
Unused
DailyRainfall
Unused
Variable 21

DailyHighOutsideTemperature
DailyLowOutsideTemperature
DailyHighInsideTemperature
DailyLowInsideTemperature
DailyHighOutsideHumidity
DailyLowOutsideHumidity
DailyHighWindSpeed

Obviously the text ones are the actual values that HV has in its PROM
for the TV display and the ones, like "variable 21", are read
into
custom variables. After that you can do pretty much what you want.
You could copy the above text straight into a text file and use as
hvconfig, saves you working it all out. ;)
As you can see I only use a small amount of the data.

Yup, I've done it and it was fine for that.
