Serial + Power --> Other Room

Hi,

I need to get serial data output, plus power out of my PC into another room
to plug into an LCD display - anyone got any recommendations to how I
should do this?  E.g. do I need to convert to cat5 or something
similar?  How would I do this?

Any help appreciated.
