Hi Mark,

THE COMMENTS IN THIS MESSAGE ARE PURELY MY OWN OPINIONS !!!

My exchange, Great Yarmouth, has a trigger level of 350.

when the registration scheme was first set up it took ages to move the
level
and gradually rose to around 90.

About a month ago there was a small article in the local free paper, about
2
column inches, about a local man who had set up
http://www.broadbandforyarmouth.co.uk
to try and promote Broadband in our
area. There is also another site covering the whole of the East of England
http://www.demandbroadband.com

Since the Broadband for Yarmouth website appeared the number of
registration
has lept and currently stands at 248 (70%). Once a trigger level is
reached,
60% of those registrations must be turned into confirmed orders before the
enabling process will begin. This means that for my exchange a total of 210
CONFIRMED orders are required.

Now it may just be coincidence....BUT....

in last weeks paper there was a half page feature on Broadband for Yarmouth
which I gave a quick glance to. Its only later when I was taking a closer
look that I noticed the opposite page. A FULL PAGE advert from BT saying
"We
know you want it" encouraging people to sign up for Broadband. At that
time
the registration counter was round about 210 - the level of confirmed
orders
needed. I wonder if this prompted the advert to give an added push to get
the exchange enabled.

I am hopeful that we will reach the trigger level quite soon but even if we
hit it by December it will be around April by the time ADSL is available.
It
will be a nice birthday present though :-)

http://www.adslguide.org.uk/availability/btprereg.asp
lists 6 exchanges that
dont have a trigger level set but already have more than 200 registrations.
I dont know where abouts you are located or how big your exchange is but
the
more local campaigns that are set up to encourage people to register, the
more it is likely to be noticed by those who make the decisions.
