I have one and found it to be very very good for all sorts of things. 
I've
used it for things like putting descriptive names on my patch panel
rather
than just using the numbers.  Labeling up binders in my filling
cabinet,
etc.

I have successfully used it on cables I'm pulling, but normally also
back
this up with biro marks on the cable just incase the labels get pulled
off.
The labels are quite stickey but I still go round them a few times with
selotape or similar to be sure.
