Hi Richard

I had a Phillips CARIN system installed in my wife=92s car 4 years ago.

This was after we experienced a =93NeverLost=94 SatNav system in the Hertz<= BR> hire car when we went to Los Angeles.

SWMBO can=92t read a map to save her life!
I used to be pretty good at reading the AtoZ, but since fitting this I
have become lazy, and always opt to use the SatNav.
We have even used it in Holland to go to Madura Dam and all the other
tourist sites, and it has been fantastic... a stress free holiday!

This was the best thing I have ever done (besides joining this
group!):-)

I would definitely *never* consider buying another new car without one.

My system is now old and superceded by the new DVD systems. Mine doesn=92t<= BR> even have TMC (which they said they were going to introduce, but never
got around to doing since they promptly sold the system to VDO)

If I was in the market now I would go for a DVD based system with TMC.
(Although I don=92t know what the latest models are, nor what they are
going for)

Mine cost =A32000 then, fitted, complete with a Tracker (anti theft)
system that I wanted.

I consider that I have recouped that in saved heart muscle, stomach
lining and marriage (not necessarily in that order!)

Vijay
