Re: Compaq Proliant 2500R power supply blown up!

Oh well! Such is life.

Many thanks for looking.

Thanks Fluff for the suggestion of Service Source - will try them on Monday.

Spent most of Saturday rebuilding the database for the mailing list. Found
and brought a "second user" psu from Ebay in the US, it will sit on the
shelf as a spare for next time! (from Gem enterprises - have got stuff for
my proliants before, always worked, but their packaging leave a lot to be
desired - Netflex 3 100meg EISA network card arriving in Styrofoam chips
inside a plastic padded bag - no antistatic what so ever!

Oh BTW - I should say to cover my butt - Opening up a switchmode psu to
check it should only be done if you *really* know what you are doing. There
are quite some lethal voltages on heatsinks etc sometimes in the order of
300 vdc etc. which are very easy to touch when your are measuring something
deeper in. Haven't done that yet with a computer psu (touch wood) but had my
fair share of jolts in industrial control panels.

Best Regards

Richard
