The point of the CD12 example was about specialisation extending to the
ver=
y high-end.
I was trying to suggest that the ideal source for CD replay was a
dedicated=
CD player, not a DVD player, no matter how good.
I'm in the fortunate position to have been able to sped a reasonable
amount=
of time listening to the CD12 over the last couple of years, with a number=
of different pairings... and I don't find ANY DVD player as good for music=
:-)
Of course, if the fairy godfather appeared and granted me a single hi-fi
co=
mponent as a wish, I still might go for a DVD player, but that's more to
do=
with the fact that I tend to spend more time watching films than listening=
to music :-)
