Looking forward though, should Ben ever decide to go the network media
player route:
MP3: Supported by Rio, Audiotron, SLiMP3
Vorbis: Supported by Rio
FLAC: Supported by Rio 
WAV: Suppored by Rio, Audiotron
WMA: Suppored by Rio, Audiotron

So, Rio is a winner right?
Excpet Rio is no longer produced, and increasingly hard to get hold of.
SLiMP3 _may_ support formats it currently does not support via
transconding
to MP3  in the future, though this may well degrade the quality.
Audiotron _may_ support formats it currently does not support natively
in
the future, though this depends on it having the horsepower to do so and
on
TB writing a driver for it.

This could mean you end up with all your CD's in a format not supported
by
the media player of your choice, or the media player of your choice
being
impossible to get hold of - it may be wise to consider this when deciding
on
the format to go for.

The good news is that if you go for a lossless format, then, tools
permitting, it should be possible to convert to one of the other
lossy/lossless formats a lot less painlessly than re-ripping your
entire
collection again in the future......
