The best price was from Ivojo (=A33500 free ship) but I eventually bought
f=
rom
Crampton and Moore (TV) Ltd. [sales@xxxxxxx] in Sheffield fo=
r
same price but I collected, delivery would have been a little more. They
ar=
e
only a small dealer but Panasonic UK authorised & they also do a lot
of=
internet sales (eBay).
I wanted to buy from Ivojo as they are good technically but a husband
&=
wife
company I am told, however they failed to get back to me on two
occasions
and had no stock for 3 weeks estimated. I was sort of happy without
support=
but I wanted someone with an address and a shop front so I could feel a
little more comfortable. C&M had stock of a silver unit when no-one
els=
e had
& it is local to me. I get quite impatient when I want something so
dro=
ve
down and brought it home - it fitted vertically in my car - they
have=
no
real comparison facilities just one 37" plasma on the wall, not worth
=
a
visit except to collect.
I would strongly recommend RGB drive to the plasma or
fa=
iling that at
least S-Video - composite is very poor in comparison. Some S-Video to
RGB
converters provide separate H & V synch (or synch on green) which
gets<=
BR>
around losing an input.
I think Keith can do RGB KAT5 units to special order
.

Where was this price from Kevin? I wonder how much they'll do the
50=
" for?

After a lot of phoning around =A33500 inc
VA=
T and delivery is about the
current best price for the Panasonic 42". The retail version
is=
silver and
the commercial one black. I have had various conflicting comments
on=
differences in spec but the most knowledgeable resellers said they
w=
ere
identical. Ivojo said that Panasonic had told him that the tuner
boa=
rd
could
not be installed in the black version due to a specific
restri=
ction made
by
Panasonic (as the black units aren't intended for TV use). Through
a=
nother
dealer Panasonic denied this and said they were identical.

mmm... I can feel one of those impulses coming on - you
=
know the ones
where you decide to go out to have a look at something
a=
nd return 5
hours later after trekking across the country with it
in=
the boot!
Now I wonder if anywhere within a 100 mile radius of
Oxf=
ord sells them
(cheap), has it in stock and is open on a Sunday :-)
Paul.

I've got the 42" (PW3). I had a fantastic CRT -
the=
best example of a
Philips 32" WS my Home Cinema dealer had ever seen
=
(and he didn't sell
it to me). The Panasonic is better.
Don't take it from me, ask Phil - he hates plasmas!
