There isn't an exact answer -
Unless you are a film cameraman then it's simple - video is crap.

One of the technical reasons is the contrast ratio is far better, but that
is only really the beginning of the story

Most quality stuff you see shot on video is Digi-beta and although the
quality is good to get the picture to full high quality spec there is a lot
of electronic trickery within the camera to "sharpen up the picture".

The other main difference is in shooting time, and time give to lighting

Video is cheap - film is very expensive
A generalisation and something people have argued about for a long time, but
it might in part answer your original question
