i'm expecting my tivo today. i know it comes with a five
day grace period. i 
intend on getting a sub, but will there be problems, other
than most of it not 
working if there are a few days inbetween the grace period 
and me getting a sub?

I'm sure mine had a grace period of 7 days.. anyway, what ever
it was I didn't actually "get around to" subscribing in time.
I foolishly thought that since it had already downloaded 14 
days worth of Guide data it would still be able to record my 
season passes.. wrong... after the grace period non of the 
season passes will record, although any manually recording 
you have set-up seem to work.!

Anyway I subscribed on Tuesday (lifetime) and its now fine,
except its next scheduled download is set for next Tuesday,
so I'm forcing a daily phone call each night. One thing you 
should be aware of is that it takes a day for you subscription
to activate. All the new subs are processed over night and 
uploaded to the USA database, so if you subscribed today, 
the TiVo wouldn't actually know about it until tomorrow 
nights call
