Ok Kevin (and all)

At the risk of sounding very dim (again) can I explore this concept(s)
further? (I can here group members yawning "Robs still not got it"!)

OK are you sitting comfortably, then I'll begin.....

OK so this switcher could receive the digital input of say a DVD player
and I guess also a CD player or Audiotron?

It would send the signal to one/all of the AV Amps. Do I assume that AV
amps can decode a digital signal from a CD or Audiotron, negating the
need for an Audio DAC?

How do you use an AV amp in a multiroom environment? i.e Can one AV amp
supply two rooms using the front and rear outputs and more importantly
can those outputs be switched remotely? Then another AV amp supply 5.1
to say the lounge using all outputs.

This unit switches audio(?) what about distributing the picture? I
assume you still need Keiths KAT5 units?

Does the Tivo units output digital? (Still not taken mine out of the box
LOL!)

Many thanks

For anyone in need of a digital audio switcher the following was
just
announced on another group. It is an 8 to 3 switcher with IR control and
auto source selection, including critically not being fooled by paused
inputs. It is fairly similar to the Nirvis DXS unit which is now so hard
to
find. Not too bad a price either ! ($99-$275 depending on features)

Nowhere near as capable as a KAT5 switcher though but it does have
two
significant differences - it's digital and it's here !
