RE: Re: Changing volume of MP3s

Dunno :-)

Haven't had enough time to seriously try.

I -do- know that not all MP3-ripping software is created equal - on my system I _can_ tell the difference between a rip using EAC+Lame compared to a "dummy" ripper. EAC+Lame is audibly better.

The difference between it and the other ripper was less than the difference between it and CD as follows

CD Quality > MP3(EAC+LAME) > MP3 (other)...

... however, I can't tell whether that's an inherent problem of MP3 or my equipment, since I have a reasonably good CD player, but only a DDAR. I'm intersted to hear an Audiotron, which should be better in my system, which likes taking in digital streams rather than analogue ones... The Rio/DDAR has no digital-out, the Audiotron does.

Thanks Mark, that makes it a little easier to understand...

Ultimately tho. is it working, my hearing is NOT that good, hence no
high end kit here.. can you tell the differene on your kit? does it
bugger up the mp3 (according to your ears and kit)?
