I've managed to extract some recordings from my Tivo to MPEG using
TivoApp
(http://home.earthlink.net/~garyw90/TivoApp.html).
It seems to be by far the most friendly way of doing the job, however I
am
having trouble playing back the files...If I try to use Windows Media
Player
it tries to find a codec, fails and just plays the audio. I have also
tried
Win VCR but crashes after a few seconds.
Any recommendations for a decent MPEG player?
FYI:
30 min prog = just over 600Mb file.
Extraction took approx 15 mins.
The TivoApp package includes everything you need (assuming you have
TivoWeb
installed & working) except for Msvcp60.dll.
Justin.
