my preferences are also as above.
Like John, I agree that the amount of information Keith is looking
to store/present is probably OTT for my use but I can see the need
if you are DJ.
I have used a catalogue only program called CD Trustee @
http://www.base40.com
This reads the ID of your CDs then gets the data from CDDB and
populates an Access database. Yes the data does have the problems
that Keith talks about but it is 90% there without any data input
>from so I can drag tracks or albums to the appropriate artist without
having to type anything.
In all it took me less than an hour to catalogue 200 CDs.

One feature I would like to see is an intro end field i.e. how long
the track runs before the music starts. Call me warped but playing
beat the intro is one of our favourite games (especially towards the
end of a "good" evening. Being able to come downstairs the next
morning without the entire CD collection scattered over the lounge
floor would be a real bonus.
