--- unless you have Meridian and Quad stuff, in which case you want a DDAR
and Rio respectively ;-)

- doesn't need any special software on PC to work: uses DHCP, NTP, and
SMB/CIFS protocols
- built-in web server
- alarm clock functionality
- streaming audio
- API for programming (think HA system integration!)
- ethernet & HPNA
- looks like a HiFi unit

Those are the things I can think of off the top of my head.
