Umm... the sound quality? :)
I can't comment on that really actually, as there were no speakers at
the meet to do an a/b comparison & my tiger one hasn't arrived yet..
However, given that u choose your own amp, better quality is far more
likely (depends on your amp!)

Also,

Good things are:
- No need to run any software on the server
- Streams internet radio out of the box
- They listen to user requests (eg for streaming windows media
support) and seem to implement them very quickly.

I thought that was cool too, but then it seems the output
isrestricted to 44 and ermm 32? khz streams - sadly the uk stations I
have picked up on it seem to go for 22 khz.   I'd rather have output
_all_ the time than only some of the time.
Same with my Sony DVD player - it does SACD, but it's only hooked to
my surround amp via optical, which won't do the surround stuff or the
96khz stuff, so bugger all point in having it.
Bought as a DVD player anyway so this isn't important - but still.....

Very true.  The bad reports about readability of the DDAR was one of
the things that put me off initially.
The AT is pretty good, and yes, does look the biz as a hifi component.

Against that though, is that the quality of the amp may not be as
good as you'd like & it is only 1/3 of the price coz of special
offers.
The AT will hopefully come down in price soon - though I doubt it :(
If you compare them when the DDAR was full price, it's probably
easier to make the jump to the AT.

In the DDARs defence again, it is an all in one unit so all you need
to add is speakers, so handy for office/kids bedroom etc - ie where
you don't want to waste space with amps etc and the built in amp is
sufficient for your needs.
