RE: OT - who has used PCB-pool?

Dave,

Out of interest.....
what SIZE of boards are you having made?
what QUANTITY of boards are you having made?

I looked at PCB pool after you mentioned it before but it didnt cost in for
me. My current KAT5 boards are single sided not double and are less than the
PCB Pool minimum size. I tried several options on their website calculator
but the lowest I could get the price was 3 times what I currently pay.

For very small runs it would probably be cost effective but for the boards I
currently have they were not competitive in anyway.

I fully acknowledge that there arent any setup charges, unlike my current
supplier, but I only had to pay that on the first batch of 50. Since then I
have had another 2 batches of 100 boards.

Hi Ian,

Send the Proteus file as this saves you having to do any Gerber stuff which
can be a pain.

The track clearance is very small at only 6mil (0.15mm) so you should be OK.
I just sent a 4 layer design to them on Tuesday which was right down to the
6mil clearance and 6mil track width and this is a dense design.

You can design your own components any way you like. Mounting holes can be
any size and position. They don't need any for the manufacture of the PCB.

I'll call you tonight around 8:30 after the bairns are in there bed and we
can chat about it.

Regards
Dave...
